I was with my PowerBook G4 and use it when I was about to connect the microphones and M-Box to record and it became black. I tried to wake him as he was on the screen saver .. no luck.

All Black? It can not? Does it sound the chime? It should have a reset button - inside the female connector on the side of laptop ..

did you try coomand option + O + F?

What is the model number or part number in a SuperDrive 15-inch PowerBook G4 1.67 with SuperDrive dual-layer?

I do not think there is no way to find out without opening your laptop and watching the SuperDrive itself. the model number of the PowerBook M9677LL / A if this helps.
